I have a Minn Kota 55PD that came with a used boat I bought. I cannot figure out how to get it turned on. I have power to the motor. Is their an on and off switch on the motor somewhere? Is it controlled only by the foot control? Help? I cannot find an owners manual anywhere.

Howdy, FFS.

Welcome to iboats. :)

Go to the Minn Kota website. I believe that you can download the owners manual there.

Failing that, try their Customer Support. It is excellent.

Good luck. :)

Re: Minn Kota

hey ffs,

welcome, this place is great for info on anything about boats. i have a 40pd, the pd stands for power drive. the motor is compleetly controlled by the foot pedal. their is no mechanical control movement, only electrical. it can only be controled by the foot pedal. unless you have the remote which is extra. the slide on the foot pedals right controls the speed of the prop, under the slide is the on/off switch. to the left of the switch is the momentary on/off switch. push down on it and the prop will spin at the setting the slide is at. to turn, where word minnkota is located that is the left or right spin for direction control. hope this helps.

chris
