Minnkota AT Sensitive Foot Pedal

I just installed a Minnkota All Terrain bow mount trolling motor (used) on my 16' boat.
When the foot pedal is pushed about half way down when making a turn, the pedal just keeps going down on its own even with your foot removed ( in other words way too sensitive).
Impossible to control even when you are aware of the situation.

Is there a way to tighten this up so at least moderate foot pressure is needed before the pedal will go down?

Thanks for any help.

There should be a tension adjustment on the pedal. Check your owners manual. The steering torque from the motor will pull the motor around. You need to keep your foot on the pedal to counter that torque.
