misfire

i have another question gents you all have helped alot. at mid throttle engine bogs down and stalls. When i go straight to full throttle from a stop no bog down. But then at wide open throttle engine surges. I put new plugs gapped right new points gapped and condenser. I set the timing to 6 degrees. Please help me again.

Did you set the dwell? is 6degrees correct for your engine? What engine is it?

What about fuel filters? What about the fuel itself?

its a 140 mercruiser. i completly emptied fuel because it smelled sour. and i changed the fuel filter. didnt check dwell im gonna check today if it ever stops raining i leave in new england lol.

Ayuh,... Now rebuild the Carb,... I bet it's got a boatload of Crap in it...
And,... You probably have 2 fuel filters,.. 1 in the fuelpump,+ 1 in the carb...
