model and serial number location

I'm new here and have a few questions but will keep the first question simple..... Where do I find the model and serial number on a Johnson 140 hp V4? I'm guessing it's from the '80's. It has VRO injection. Thanks.

On the side of the transom clamps there should be a plate with a model number and serial number on it. If it's missing, the powerhead has a metal disc with some numbers, sometimes the model number is part of it, sometimes just the serial number. The dealer can run a search on the serial number.

Thank you. The tag is missing. The metal disc is there with a big dent in it. Like somebody used a punch to re-install it. Makes me wonder about the history of this outboard. Oh boy.......

not uncommon for the label or plate to be missing. post as many pics as you can with the cowl off, and picture of the cowl.
