sorry kenmyfam i've tryed the johnson site still does not give me that model number i've been told there was problems with johnson and evinrude during those year's and thats why i have this problem. i did call a boat place in ft lauderdale fl and was able to get parts from them but they could not help me as far as me looking up a site with the model number.

What parts are you looking for ?? There may be some compatability with other models.

Re: Model Number

carb ,lower unit, and shift linkage for the carb

Carb and shift linkage may well be compatible with others of the same or similar vintage. I doubt that they would tool up for an individual motor. Lower unit may be a different matter though.

Re: Model Number

was this a jet drive, and you are trying to go to a prop drive? there is a 2001 J40 VLSIA.

join us next weekend in Fruitland Park, just north of Leesburg, on Hwy 441 http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=291501 just send me a PM.

I found the VLSIA as well. Got confused when I saw the jet drive and special gearcase so left it alone !!!
TD, you are making me real jealous about next weekend. I wish I could be there.
Oh well, there's always next time.
