So I don't make the same mistakes again, what was so objectionable about my post (joke) about Michael Jackson and the plastic grocery bag that it was removed?
Thanks,
Brian

Brian, I didn't see the post before it was removed, but I can assure you the Mods here try to keep threads that may incite an uproar or that appear to be racist to a minimum. Again, I didn;t see the post.

We all just want everyone to enjoy their time here without inciting a riot.

I hope you understand.

Not a problem and 'thank you' for the quick reply. If my little joke was perceived as 'racist' it was purely unintentional. Those that know me would attest that I don't have one racist bone in my body! I am totally 'color blind'. I just thought it was funny, especially as it was told to me by one of my Afro-American friends.
As I wish to make no enemies here (or anywhere, for that matter), I will try to be more sensitive in the future.
Happy Thanksgiving,
BrianFD

Yes Catfish I did and poofed it. Some content is just not suitable for this website. If you can't use foul language in your posts, a link to really foul language is also unacceptable. I should have provided an explanation.

Not trying to be a killjoy here. Just trying to make sure we all keep within iboats posting code of ethics.

Mod4, I know you mods have a really tough job to do to keep us (sometimes "juvenile") delinquents in line, and for the most part, I think you do a good job of it. I, for one, don't envy your job. Perhaps, though, instead of just deleting a post, you could leave the subject line and provide an explanation for its demise?? Just a thought...
Thank you!
Brian

in his defense however, he warned that there was explicit language ... you have to actively LINK to it, its not like you just open up an iboats board and

WHOOP! THERE IT IS !!!!!!

ya gotta hit that little link, something that grandmothers and pastors and poor little old spinsters that got a diagnosis of cobwebs on their last gyn exam are likely to NOT link on

just one of many minor ruminations that I ponder

Hmnnn... Maybe Sloopy should say something!

!!!!!THIS IS A BOATING FORUM!!!!! Let me put it in smaller words for some of you: This Forum is on a website names "Iboats.com" It is a boating web site, iboats host a boating forum so US (boaters) can talk about BOATS, the NTDWB section is for BOATERS (NOT JOKERS) to talk about things (non boating stuff that interest them)not related to boats (Cars, kids, houses, land, guns, politics, planes, iraq, computers) But not tell jokes that you get in your email folder everyday.

Re: Mods, just curious...

Well my understanding of the switch was that this forum, "Dockside Chat" was for the chit chat about anything else like jokes and so forth.
All the other non related boat stuff is for the other forum.

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones...I remember a long time past that another member here was booted off numerous times because of inappropriate Behavior...

If I am not mistaken ole Sloopy had to be corraled a few times here to..come on Sloop you must be peeking in here alot to know whats going on below..We are just expressing ourselves and when we get out of line the higher ups let us know..no biggee..Thats why its where it is..

The mods are getting the point across by putting the poof on...We are getting the message and the mods are trying to do a litle spring cleaning here..Just be glad we don't come up to the sailing part and start giving advice..Hmmmm

Re: Mods, just curious...

yeah but I don't anymore. For now on 97% of my posting will be in the boating sections. I will no Longer stack up post by replying to jokes with " :D " or "good one". I am starting to think that the ntdwb sections hurts iboats.

Sloopy, you have matured beyond your years. Very astute observation and you have my respect for expressing it. Regards.

SLOOPY, You'll fit right into that MOD5 spot. Some may call it maturing, others may call it hypocrisy

Re: Mods, just curious...

Sloopy, I disagree. The general discussion areas such as Non-boating Topics of Interest and Dockside Chat can actually be good for iboats. Hopefully those who post here buy parts and/or boating equipment.

If this section in anyway hurts iboats its because of the constant monitoring having to be done because members refuse to abide by the rules and code of conduct or make posts or comments in defiance of them. This takes valuable time away from the moderators when their effort would be better spent finding parts and equipment or help for the other threads.

The owner's of iboats are being very generous allowing this portion of this site to remain open to the likes of us and I thank and respect them for it. If everyone shared my attitude, this would be a better place.
