After being around this place for some time, I have learned a lot, and had a lot of fun too. However, I still have questions which need answers. So for all you Mods out there here are my questions.<br /><br />Do you log on as other people and noodle about the forum as we do? (ie. is SBN secretly a Mod?)<br /> <br />Do you have a boats? (real question, we know the rest of do)<br /><br />Is this your day job? <br /><br />How come you don't have as many posts as JB?<br /><br />What is the rank and file? (does Mod 5 report to Mod 4, mod 4 report to mod 3, etc.?)<br /><br />Are you guys all like in a booth together somewhere? Or are you from all over the country? <br /><br />Please do not Poof me, I am serious about my questions and I am curious as to the "people behind the curtain"

Let me see if I can answer your questions, GFTP.<br /><br />Yes. All Mods are also regular members and contributors, and were for some time before being invited by Admin5 to moderate.<br /><br />Yes. All moderators are boaters. <br /><br />This is a job, believe me, but none of us are compensated by iboats. Our compensation comes from the satisfaction of helping keep the Board orderly and the style in line with iboats wishes.<br /><br />I (JB) have been here longer than the other mods. I am also retired and don't have a career to keep healthy or a family to support at the same time. All of my posts are counted in one total. The other mods have two totals; one as a member and another as an anonymous moderator.<br /><br />All Moderators report to Admin5, there is no heirarchy among us.<br /><br />Though we communicate with each other and with Admin5 regularly and have a teleconference monthly, we are located at different places.<br /><br />Does that cover your questions?

I'm not sure I'm ready to come out of the closet just yet. <br /><br />I can tell you this is a volunteer job, most of us have real jobs and we are spread out all over the US.
