I purchased a 15.6 Mohawk ply-lap boat, is there anyone that can provide any info on this type of boat. I have only seen one other on another website and tried to contact the person to no avial. The boat was built in 1960-cold mold construction with white lap strake cedear on the hull, it also has Sepele Ribbion Stripe mahogony ont the bow and mahogny seats and rails. It was in Ohio from 1962 until sold in June of 2009. Does anyone know where it was built and any other info on the builder or the boat?

I just bought a 1958 "Mohawk" boat that sounds vaguely similar. Cold (or hot I guess?) molded ply with cedar planking over it. I have searched high and low and have not found anything on this boat, except: It appears the hull was bought from a subsidary of Wagemaker (can't remember the name now!) then finished by "mohawk", and there are some boats out there with this hull, but not finished this nicely. I'll probably start my own thread with pictures, but thought I'd reply here in case you're still watching it.
She came with the original trailer in mint condition and the original Evinrude "Four Fifty". Just bought her so haven't figured out what's up with the engine yet...the propeller is broken, that's a good starting point. For now, there's a 28 strapped to her.
I'll go ahead and attach the picture that sold me on this boat.
Oh, also bought in Ohio.

I recently purchased a 1959 Mohawk runabout in beautiful condition. My research indicates these were made by Wagemaker in a plant they had in Fulton, NY. If anyone has more info on these boats let me know!

Welcome to Iboats.... Please take a few minutes to read the rules.
Please start a new thread on your boat instead of hijacking an old dormant thread.

No need to get bent outta shape, smoke is just saying hijacking other people's threads or responding to old threads just creates confusion that's why it's asked not to do so. This is hands down the best boating forum for help or just general info so just have a look at the rules. Follow them and people will be more than willing to help and give you info.
