I'll find and kill maybe 2-3 tiny moths per day. Mostly around the kitchen. Been going on for about a month.
Any idea where they could be coming from? What will get rid of them?
How do moth balls work? Do they have to eat the stuff or does the odor do them in?
Thanks in advance.

Nope, they don't eat them, it's the gas emitted that gets 'em. Moth balls work best in a confined area. I'd be careful using moth balls in a kitchen around food stuffs. Moth balls go directly from a solid to a gas, called sublimation.

Look for bug signs in grain products, like bird seed, oat meal etc.

Are these moths about 1/2 inch long? I've noticed that we have about 4 or 5 every morning in the bathroom.

Thanks, so far I don't think they have been a problem but I was curious as I have never seen them before in groups. Usually the little ones are "loners".

Do they have colorful wings. If so they may be Indian Meal Moth.

Pantry moths by the sound of it. They'll lay eggs on packets of cereals etc, the eggs hatch and the larvae eat their way into the bag, eat the cereal, then pupate leaving threads of web all through your cereal packet. Nasty little critters, best defence is tupperware and a fly swot for the adult moths. Good luck!

You can buy pantry moth traps. They have a scent lure & a sticky surface.
Go looking though all your flour, cereals, spices, chocolate, dried beans, etc. I once traced an infestation to something in a metal can with a lid. Somehow they were able to get out.
The traps really attract & catch them. About $10 for 3.

I had a customer with an infestation of those critters. Turns out that they were coming from and unused barrel of dog food kibbles. They got rid of the container and the problem started to fade a way.
