Motor Cranking Slowly

Hi Guys<br /><br />My 70hp evinrude sometimes cranks over very slowly and other times it cranks over as normal,the solenoid has been replaced in the last month and this problem still occurs, can anyone suggest where i may start looking for the problem.<br /><br />Many Thanks<br /><br />Eddy :rolleyes:

If the battery is consistently charged, the starter itself is probably bad. I just replaced mine on my 175 that had the same symptoms. Try jumping the battery directly to the starter to bypass the rest of the system. If it still lags, the starter is going bad. Good luck!
