I have a '94 Suzuki dt100 that has a habit filling with water! After running 5-10 min, if you take off the cowl, there is water almost to the brim. I tried running it with the cowl off, and....NO WATER!! For real!! I only ran it for about 2min without the cowl, but I hung over the end of the motor looking for a drop of watter filling or coming in and there was nothing? I am thinking that I did not run it at full throttle long enough but we could not understand why not even a drop/squirt/leak was seen. Any ideas?? Is it possible that having the cowl off makes a difference? Here are some details to confuse the issue or help:
1) Engine runs perfect...starts on first turn most times.
2) I get the feeling that it only happens with high rpm...
3) Found a failed O-ring on a water temp sensor that i actually saw leaking...replaced it but motor still filling up.
4) I am new to outboards so be patient...hehe.
THanks...
