Ok here is my question. I have an 85hp yamaha on a altus trim & tilt plate, so it sets off the transom about 6 inches. The cavitation plate is level with the bottom of the boat, I have one more hole in which I can raise the engine higher by about an inch, that would put the cavitation plate about an inch above the bottom of the boat. Should I go ahead and move it up or leave it level with the bottom??????

Re: motor height

Charles, You should try it. If you have too much blow out, then it is too high. I expect it should be fine however!
