I have a 2003 50hp ELPTO 2 stroke. I have owned this boat/motor for about 3 months now. When getting up on a plane, it seems to not like to be fully trimmed down. It will get up on a plane, but with slight to mild hesitation. If I trim it up, to a point that is ALMOST too high to plane....it runs flawlessly....very strong.
My guess seems to lean towards fuel/carbs or electrical?
- I changed props down to a 13p prop, so it is definately not the prop.
- The fuel lines dont apear pinched or binded up in any part of the trim range.
- It sometimes will do the same thing when in rough water (still when only trimmed down.) It is almost an instant change. Coming out of the smooth water of the river to rough water of the lake....and it instantly has the issue. Trim it up, it's fine! But of course, you want more boat in the water when its rough.
It runs great otherwise. Any thoughts?
thanks!
