Motor just revs high

I have a 1972 105hp outboard. Earlier when i was out my motor started acting up. it will only go slow and when i add more throttle the motor just revs up but doesnt move the boat. Any ideas??

Check for a spun prop.

ive also been told that my seal could be shot. and all i would have to do is change the lower unit lube. is this true??
