Motor kinda 'hiccups" every few seconds...

69 Chrysler 45 horse motor... Had it out yesterday and it ran well, got me on and off the lake without stalling, but it ran a little funny.... It would sound and run great for about 10 seconds, then it would lose power for a second, and sound like it misfired, it would catch itself and start running great again, would happen about every 8-10 seconds regularly... Anyone have any ideas on where to start looking for an issue??

it is running lean. meaning there is not enough fuel for the amount of air going through the carburetor into the engine.
Since the fuel also carries the oil to lubricate the engine, this is bad.
Keep running it like this and it will burn up.

You need to either increase the amount of fuel going in, or rebuild the carb.
