My '96 Larson/3.0/Volvo has a motor mount that has pulled/stripped the threads. The one on the front port side that bolts thru the hull. Can anyone help with repair advice?

I Really Appreciate the Help!
Mark

Re: motor mount issue

Thanks Tom

I really don't know. I looked at the bolt the other day and it had moved upward about 1". I tightened it up some, But it didn't "feel" to good. It never did tighted snug. Is it a lag bolt? Can I simply unscrew it and look down there? I really did not know how or what to look for. Any suggestions or directions?

Mark

Re: motor mount issue

it should not cause a problem to take a look unless the engine is supported in some strange way

you can probe the area to feel the condition of the wood if you were VERY LUCKLY the wood will be good but the only way to tell is to poke around kind of like termites you dont see the problem till its gone so far it smacks you in the head

if there is only minor rot there are products that can be used to stablize the wood if you post about this over in the boat restore area you will get better advise

tommays
