I have a 1987 60hp Mercury 3 cylinder, 2 stroke outboard. It will start right up and idle, and it runs a bit rough on idle up. When I get it in the water, it runs fine, but after a couple minutes on plane, it stalls out and won't start unless I have the throttle at about 1/2. I get the feeling it is starving for fuel, but I also remember holding the throttle wide open on a flooded snowmobile or lawn mower in order to get it to start. I know they are not the same, but it confuses me as to whether it is starving for fuel or flooding itself out. Any ideas? Thanks.
