motorguide goes in circles

My 56lb thrust motorguide trolling motor (foot pedal) has lost its directional control. I can only go to the right and in circles. Is this repairable? Should I drop $600 for a new motor or try to find someone to fix this one? (I live in VT) The motor is about 4-5 years and only used a few months per yr. Frankly, I expected better quality for that price. Thanks.

Is it cable control or electronic steering? There may be an adjustment in the foot pedal or if the foot pedal is bad, you can probably get another. If it is the motor I used to have, I believe there was an adjustment.

First call Motor Guide and tell them you are unhappy. See if the will do a free repair.
