murcruiser i/o steering upgrade

is there some way i can up grade my 75 merc 165 to power steering. i would love it if my girlfriend was strong enough to drive this boat

Probably, but it will not be cheap.......
You would almost need a donor boat....
Have you tried adjusting the trim tab on the drive?
It can make quite a difference .......JK

JK is probably right about needing to adjust the trim tab on the drive to make the steering easier, but if you do want something like power steering have a look at hydraulic steering instead of power steering. You will have no feedback from the drive, easy to steer and turn at all speeds, and easy to install.

It might just need a Grease Job,.... Or a New Steering Cable........

Have you Inspected it to determine Where it's tight,..??......
