Heck, any old Lone Star is a cool boat, not sure about the model though. I have a 60 or 61 glass LS, there are a few of us floating around. What's the plan for this one?

not sure on the plan I have a 1957 also and I kept it closer to original, so on this one I may cut on her a bit and make a really nice fishing machine, open up the bow, I want to keep her very simple and very light.

That is one homely boat:facepalm:

At least it's made of the right material:encouragement:

It's sure got a tall profile, between that and the military camo paint job, it looks ready to do battle. Enough rivets to build a couple of boats. Does the outboard run?

Yes the outboard runs but I have another motor for her I'm just wondering how much of the bow can I remove without the sides folding out like a cheap above ground swimming pool

That's actually a pretty cool boat, and it kind of reminds me of this one:

You could cut that covered bow out no sweat and put in a nice deck for a lot more room.

well after new transom, new floors, gulvit, paint striper, paint striper and more paint striper, more sanding than one man should ever have to do, and atleast 1 pint of blood. I must say Im pretty proud of how this old girl is coming togetherDCFC0498.JPG DCFC0499.JPGDCFC0500.JPG

Cutting out that bow would be fairly easy. You would just have to fab up some sides to support the windsheld area. Either bowless or not, that's a pretty cool looking boat you have there. Your restoration has done her proud. It does have that tough battle ship look to it. Strait lines...no nonsense...plenty of rivets... I love it.

Rustoleum works wonders on a homely looking boat hull doesn't it.

this should give you a pretty good idea of before and after the rustoleum treatment I think the stuff is great IM sure some paint out there is better but what a lot of bang for your buck
