My 1972 johnson 85 hp

can anyone tell me witch one is the heat switch that operates the high temp warning horn ,I have engine mod #85esl72r on top of the block there is a 2 wire plug that seems to go into the block then on the bottom of the right head there is a single wire that goes in th the head there this motor is new to me and my first with a thermostat any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum.
The overheat sensor is in the head, #35 on the breakdown below. It should have a single tan wire on it.

Daviet is right. The thermostat in the top of the block automatically gives the motor half choke until it warms up. The other in the head is overheat warning
