Well fellas I have finally separated the topbox from the universal drive by removing one of the crosses. As you said this, was no picnic. I checked the drive bearing and it is good as, not the slightest movement in either end.
And because I'm scratching at the moment, and everything looks good, my head tells me to replace the bellows, seals and the crosses and get back to fishing. I can't thank you fellas enough for the help you have given me, this is a brilliant site you have dedicated yourselves to. please keep up the good work, it is invaluable for dum,dums like me. Thanks again.

Glad to hear you got it apart. Grease up the yoke and driveshaft so they won't rust together again!!

While you have the upper off, pull off the water intake "S" hose and check the intake fitting. those corrode and cause overheating issues. Much easier to replace with the upper box off.

Hi Fellas, I have been sick as a dog for weeks and just pottering around, but tried to chase up the cross I needed for my AQD40A. From what I gather they can't get any in Australia, or the top box 'O' ring seals. Can anyone direct me to a source anywhere for these parts? They tell me they are out of production! .........wouldn't that give you the willies!!. I hope someone can help. Thanks in anticipation.
