My Bayliner and possible rotting deck

Hi All,
It's been 2 long months since I've visited, I've had a time taking care of my 77 year old father, he was involved in a serious auto crash which was his fault, the accident left him with a broken neck, broken back 3 places, broken claivical and a brain bleed. Since he lives alone, my mom passed away a little over a year ago I got to see him every day.

Now back to my boat, I contacted Bayliner about the deck and they said the deck was not rotted just that there are 2 boards over the fuel tank and they seperated. I got a tube of liquid nails and glued, screwed and clamped them together. Time will tell. My boat is now at the mechanic getting winterized and hopefully he can find my electrical issue. Hopefully next season I'll be on the water more.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Glad to hear your boat troubles weren't as bad as you thought.

Best of luck to your father on his recovery.

Hey JZ,

Wondered what happen to you. Sorry to hear about your father I am sure your boat was the last thing you wanted to worry about at that time.

How did you Bayliner figure it was the 2 boards seperating? Did you take it to a Bayliner dealer and have them look at it? Assuming you were dealing with Ken at Bayliner Corp? He has been pretty helpful with my questions.

Can't remember the electrical issue you had. What was that. Well glad to hear you are ok and hope your dad get better quick.

I took a mess of photos and sent them to Bayliner a guy named Matt responsed by telephone and described what to do. So far so good!

My electrical is my tach was bouncing between 700 and 3000 at idle, my water temp never got higher the 100 degrees, my fuel gauge bounced around and finally my hour meter stopped.

Thanks for the reply.....

Ken is the Northeast Regional Customer Service Manager.

That is a wierd electrical problem. Just a shot in the dark but maybe a bad ground? Hope you get it rectified.
