I agree. If it was his tree and a branch fell off, he should clean up the mess. I can't believe he actually made the effort to clean it up only to stop at the property line thinking the rest is your responsibility. What happened to common sense? I would ask him when he plans on cleaning up the rest of the branch......

and there is your best reason to talk with him ... Hey bud, my saw isn't working right now and besides, the arthritis is really flaring up so do you mind finishing getting rid of the branch? I sure would appreciate it. Might be your best response. After all, you are always helping him so in his mind you have the tools and can do a better job than he can ...

UPDATE ,Talked to neighbor and he said he would rent a chainsaw and finish the job. I then told him that before he did that and considering the heat why not wait for a couple of weeks and perhaps I could have my saw fixed by then and would help.... The pictures show the mess

Atleast it was just a tree. I often find my neighbors arrows in my kids play set.
Once found his kids playing in my boat.
His wife knows more about what happens around our house than we do.

I miss the old days of living on 40 acres without anyone near by.

YEA!!!! Win-win! Good job, rivermouse. I am sorry the neighbor did not do this, or think of this on his own but glad with a little talking that the outcome became a favorable one for both parties. Nothing beats neighbors working together!
