There isnt any cash involved, all of the estate is 22 acres of Farm land with an old house and barn right next to a new housing developement. All city services are there. The $250,000 is just an estamate, the property could be worth as much as $500,000. Thats mainly why I had my lawyer look into it, he is making sure that there is an accurate written assessment made of the property so that there are no under the table sales made. Just keeping everyone honest.

Good for you, LD. Now, about that charitable contribution ... sorry, I just couldn't resist.<br /><br />Enjoy the spending.<br /><br />Had some friends that got unexpected news like that. Went out and spent the money (credit cards) only to eventually realize that the estate would be settled at the death of the WIFE! Ended up getting the inheritence 15 years later! I think they learned their lesson - don't spend your chickens before they are hatched, or something like that!

You dont have to worry about that, I dont charge anything I cant pay for. My Discover card hates me as they pay me to have the card as I use it as a debit card and charge all my gas and everything else on it and then pay it off every month. Usually enough to take the wife out for dinner once a year. And yes, I take her out inbetween also. I still call her up and invite her out for dates. Sometimes Ive even rented a motel in advance. Im such a romantic devel.
