Re: My Starcraft PM160 thread!
Sorry for the delay. Here is the problem area. I have the carpet pulled back. I believe originally, this was all one piece of decking. Previous owner left the decking from this seam to the bow. Everything aft of the seam is new. And coming up a bit at the seam. I have to stand or press down on the new piece of decking there to get that access door to open. Even harder with the carpet down. It wants to grab the carpet when opening.
Any ideas? Has anyone ever dealt with one of these and the platforms in the from and back? Seems there are a million screws holding it all together. I'd like to get at the gas tank in the rear which is under the platform. Not looking forward to tearing it all apart lol. Or trying to get at all those screws.
I'm thinking maybe I can do a small aluminum "threshold" like you'd have in a normal doorway.. Ehh. I dunno..
having trouble visualizing what you're describing, even after going back to your pics. generally, if you can reach the back side, i'd go with machine screws and nylock nuts.....i just think the banging any boat endures will eventually loosen most sheet metal and wood screws. OTOH, Starcraft apparently disagreed and sevl of the non-structural things they secured with sheet metal screws 40+ yrs ago are still tight on mine.
