Re: My wonderful Force (updated with pic)

Let me bring those of you that responded up to date on this engine.
Although reed valves apparently were found to be bad, this was not the whole issue. After replacing the valves, performance did improve, especially the idling, starting and the fuel spewing from carbs. However on the test run the engine lost ignition spark to the number 4 cylinder at mid to high rpm's. This is what likely caused the deposit build up. We still are searching for the culprit of the ignition problem. Now let me throw this at you and see what you guys think.
The mechanic brought this to my attention. First the engine seems a bit noisy and upon removing the flywheel he noted that the inner magnet is rubbing the trigger slightly. These parts were recently replaced (both used). AND check this out, the old original flywheel and trigger show rubbing marks as well. Last I heard he is concerned that this is not normal wear and could be the source of the ignition problem. It could also be the sourse of the noise and may indicate the crank bearings or crankshaft itself may be wobbling things. If this is the case then funeral arrangements will be made for this engine and a new Yammy may be in my future sooner than I expected. BTW, I have $460.00 in the reed valve job, life is not always fair.
Any thoughts or experiences on this would be appreciated.
