good chance of a tank leak here.....the mech may have missed it.

however i would block everything my self and re test.......it should hold a lb or two of pressure for a long time.
Don't how he could have missed it. The system either held pressure or it didn't. I'm guessing BS.

Could be the fuel fill line is getting old and cracked and when you put gas in the boat it is leaking though the line.

I had this problem and replaced the lines (both the fill and vent lines) which required me to cut a few access ports in the deck and also dig out a lot of foam since they were under the foam.

Knuckle buster!

I am scratching my head with this one. Unless he removed the tank and plugged all the hose connections, how did he pressurized the tank and not pressurize all the hoses as well?

Everything in the fuel system would have been under pressure and would have checked out had he done what he said he did. Either you do not have a problem with tank, hoses fill, etc. or your mechanic is BSing you.

I'm not sure exactly how he performed the pressure test. The mechanic took the boat with him to do some of the repairs. I'm assuming he pressure tested the area where you fill gas into. He said that it held pressure.. Is it possible that there was a slow leak in the tank and it went undetected or caused the leak to worsen?

I know for fact that he did not remove the tank, it's below the deck. I'm going to call him and ask exactly what he did and post the comments on here.

If you end up having to cut the floor, you might cut it out and make it into some kind of access panel so you can easily get under the floor should you need to in the future.

Just a thought.

Great idea! I'll definitely consider this if I have to cut up the deck. Hoping I don't have to but signs point otherwise.
