Mystery motor

I was given an 18 hp outboard motor by a friend. It was his dads outboard and he knew nothing about it. My problem is that the ID tag is just about all worn off, so I have no clue what brand it is. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated!

Take the cowling off.----Post 3 pictures of engine.----Post pictures of prop / lower unit and midsection.-----Your first 3 pictures mean very little !!

The letters are embossed. Rub a crayon on it to bring out the rest of the numbers.

Do a search for that eagle logo. That will identify the make.

Hi. It’s an old Tohatsu 18hp. That eagle was their logo from decades ago.
