Hands down, The US is the 800 lbs Gorilla on this planet... we could wipe our azz with all of the rest at one time without raising a sweat... we are the police of the world for one reason, and one reason only... we are capable, and we don't want to rule the rest of the world, who would?

When push comes to shove, the world calls on the US, the rest of the time they dis US... but what can you expect from kids?

I am sure there is something that can be worked out through "Diplomacy". We need to open a "Dialogue" We need to be "Sensitive" to their desire to obtain nuclear weapons. We shouldn't "Offend" whack job dictators in any way. We should provide "Aid" and "Technical advisors" to assist their "Peaceful" applications of Nuclear Weapons.

We tested the Fat boy in NM... it was a Plutonium implosion device and we didn’t know for sure if it was a dud or would ignite the atmosphere.... we knew the "gun type" (Uranium based) would work from our studies in Chicago.(Manhattan Project)

"Gun type" are simple but wasteful... They go off with about 10% of their potential for materials used.

Implosion is another ball game entirely... fairly efficient and have the added benefit of being able to be "enhanced, and/or boosted"

Think Hydrogen bomb, or in correct parlance, Thermonuclear device.
