I got these carbs back from getting them cleaned a couple of days ago, I looked at the rebuild kit and I am lost as can be. I cannot believe my carbs were missing all of these o-rings and washers, no wonder my motor wasn't throttling up in gear. These parts have been missing from the day I bought the motor. I went to the library trying to find a manual, I called around trying to find one to buy, truth is I'm in a hurry to get this thing together and I can't wait to get these carbs out of my hair and maybe take the boat back out on the water try my new depth finder out. I know the black pin goes to the float.

I believe the 2 little plastic white pieces next to the red pieces are called lead shots, I could be wrong, I believe they go into the idle jet hole. I got the plugs replaced on the carbs. The brp kit I bought 439076, my motor model number is 85895c 1978 85hp. I trust that they gave me the right kits.

Here is the picture of the parts. This one has me whooped.

Some carb kits are somewhat"universal", they have parts for different applications and it makes more sense to make and stock one kit with all the parts as opposed to dedicated kits for every small iteration. You may have extra seals because they go to carbs from another year or HP. Rick

I was thinking of that at one point, it makes it more difficult to figure out what goes where.

"lead shots" are, actually, "lead shot". Used for plugging holes left from the manufacturing process.

I can confirm, the sierra kits have all kinds of plastic bits I don't use. I see you have the float arm hinge pin in there

Yep, I didn't include the gaskets and needle and seat in the picture.

Like I said I sorta figured that not all the parts went to my carbs. I paid $30.99 for a bunch of parts that I don't need, and most likely will never be used. I still was missing the o-rings on the idle valve, fiber washers, washer to the needle seat. Lord I hope this gets this motor straightened out.

Don't have a clue what those big o-rings are for, even if they do go to another year.

Thanks for the replies so far.
