The velcro bracelets with the raised hard plastic are to apply pressure on a specific location on the body (wrist area) to alleviate motion sickness. Do they work? Dunno, never been seasick! Never knew of anyone who used them more than once though...

Re: "Natural frequencies"??

I had a guy approach me in vegas selling these medallions.. same claims better balance. more strength. healthy etc etc even went as far to say if you put it on a fuel line you'll get better gas mileage.

SO I let him do his thing.. (cheap entertainment right) sure enough all the balance tests I did better with his dohickey in my pocket. I could twist further etc.

NOW I no way feel it was his dohickey.. its a scam somehow. Maybe first time you body takes a second to adjust second time it already has. I don;t know. but anyways. bottom line they were selling for $200 bucks... and it was UGLY. SCAM!!!

You know the ones for $10.. they look semi noice you can't buy a nice bracelet for that price. for ten bucks I might say.. nice bracelet and try one but this guy was selling them by the truckload at $200 a piece.. and he didn;t have any overhead.. or a way to get hold of him after he walked away... now thats a scammer looking for an easy target

Bottom line free enterprise.. but yeah buyer be ware. of anything you buy..

It's all a load...pardon the pun.

I don't see anything wrong with what they are promoting. No different than those magnetic and copper bracelets, herbs, potions and other assorted herbal and natural remedies, of which there are hundreds if not thousands, claiming to cure everything from a hangover to terminal cancer.

What makes you assume it is an outrageous lie? Has it been proven or dis-proven by any reputable medical body? The Chinese have practiced acupuncture for hundreds of years and believe strongly in its powers. Our western culture think it nothing more than black magic.

You really don't want to know the extent of the mystery cures that a terminal cancer patient will go to.

Stones, blankets, magnets, radio frequencies, lotions, soaps, lighting, crystals, "chi gong", and many more. Do they work? Who knows.

But, my medical insurance covers acupuncture, homeopathy, herbatherapy and nutrition-something.

Re: "Natural frequencies"??

Have you seen the ad for a "bracelet" that uses "natural frequencies" to alter your balance, increase your energy, etc.??

How in the world can that outrageous lie be allowed on TV? Some people will fall for it and pay $19.95 (plus S&H) for that worthless POJ and be too embarrassed to take them up on the " moneyback".

Not turning this thread religious, but many people believe, that God both creates and cures ailments. Buddhists believe that mind and spirit work toward good health, just as well as medicine. Maybe it happens this way, maybe it does not.

I have met several people who swear that the copper braclets, make their joint pains go away. No way could I convince them otherwise.

My point is that maybe if people think something will make them feel better, maybe they will feel better.

Everything has a resonance frequency, with the human body 5-10Hz. If their "frequency" is off a bit, maybe this $20 band will give them the "hertz" they need. ;)

I thought the only bracelets that promote balance were the court ordered electronic kind that go on the ankle:D:D:D

Re: "Natural frequencies"??

Deceased mother-in-law had cancer, 4+ years. She tried everything. Surgery-chemo-radiation first. Then the list is endless.

Even had a frequency generator ( for test purposes only) as it is illegal to sell or promote there use for healing.

Another one of those cases where some "scientist" had "proven" that any disease could be cured with the right frequency.

She believed:
that because it worked, the gov't took it all away from him, along with the list of frequencies. So now only the gov't has the cure for cancer and they won't let us have it.

She would spend countless hours hooked up to the machine, trying to find THEE resonant frequency that would destroy the cancer.

I don't bother with that sort of thing. I prefer to sell new carbs for OMC 9.9hp motors, so that the owners can turn them into 175s.

Anyone want the link to my EBay page? ;)

Re: "Natural frequencies"??

My girlfriend bought her and I an "ion" bracelet a couple of years ago. I wore mine religiously for a year and didn't see a difference in anything but I didn't have any ailments. She, on the other hand, who is a hypocondriac and has all types of issues constantly, swears by it.

My take is that I can't disprove it, nor can I prove it. The way I looked at it is its a cute bracelet either way. ;) :)

Re: "Natural frequencies"??

I just think it comes down to believing to be true what we want to be true.

There are a ton of things that have not surprisingly proved to be bogus, yet have generated a ton of money for someone. The recent product "Enzyte" with the spokesman "Bob" comes to mind. They even sponsored a Nascar Team.

That's not to say that all non-traditional substances and methods are all bogus.

There's something to be said for real scientific method testing and double blind studies, and the things that are supposed to offer fantastic health claims ought to be required to subject their products to independent testing and verification.

On the flip side, there are things that are known to work, fish oil being one of them. As we all know, the stuff has been sold by "supplement" companies for quite awhile. Now there are an FDA approved version, which the pharmaceutical company pushing them, claims to be somehow better. You can be sure that all that "better," makes the stuff cost three times as much as what you can buy from anyone else.

Personally, I will NEVER doubt the strength of the Placebo Effect. I've watched it improve fuel efficiency

I use fish oil daily and it certainly works for me. I had my old insurance company refuse to pay for the FDA approved stuff, so I used OTC stuff and it dropped my bad cholesterol.
