Well I finally finished the bear hunt in British Columbia and made my way to Rockford, IL to pick up Old Blue. This boat is an 18' Starcraft Holiday model. There is no paperwork or documentation so a cruise thru the brochures I have (64-69) shows the only year they made the blue holiday was 66. This boat is identical to my 66 sunchief except in size and color. The power plant is a 110 hp Mercruiser with the white outdrive.

Check out the area where the guy I bought it from hit it with a powerwasher! The inside is totally gutted and we have no idea how long it has been since it was fired up. all the parts are there but the raccoons tore up all the wood, vinyl, and foam. No holes and the usual small dings and dents. The boat had about 2 feet of water in it due to all the rotted wood and deteriorated foam in the hull.

Right now the plan is to yank the power plant out to use as future replacement parts for the sunchief and perhaps do a down and dirty center console conversion with an outboard for salt water fishing.

Does anyone know of a source for those big jackplate type setups I've seen on a couple of other conversions to outboard? Plans or drawings?

I'll post some more pics as soon as I have a chance.

BTW, Illinois really sucks with that 55 MPH deal for trailers on their interstates:p

North Beach - I'm beginning to think you are a major contributing factor to me not being able to find a decent old Starcraft!

Seriously though, nice find!:D Wish I could help you with the bracket, but unfortunately I can't. I do have a pretty nice fiberglass center console at my shop in NOVA if you're looking. That boat might work better with a doghouse though - just a thought.

So, how many sliders were you able to get down?:D
