I'm restoring a 1973 Wriedt Spoiler. The windshield was broken and removed before I got the boat so I don't know what it looked like. Does anyone know where I can find one or maybe how I can build one?

A few lengths of 3/4" L and U aluminum stock, 1/4" plexiglass, aluminum rivets and screws and you should be able to make a simple flat windshield like these for a very small investment:

Depending on how how fancy you want to get, you could make the windshield a V shape instead of flat, or make it fold down forward like the old Jeeps for that wind-in-your-face ride. The side sections can be as long or stubby as you like. When messing around with windshield designs a while back, I realize tha a long trailing side window may not be all that practical even if it does look nicer. Aluminum bends fairly easily, so getting a contour to the deck for good fit should not be too difficult.

You should be able to get everything you need at the home centers. I would experiment with cutting up cardboard boxes to make the windshield mock-up before spending any money just to see if you can design a windshield you like.

Regards,

Mark.
