Hey guys,
I had to replace the headgasket on my 98 3.0l mercruiser. I got piston #1 to TDC. removed the rockers and rods and replaced the gasket. Now I'm putting the rockers and rods back on and the book says to torque them down to 20lb ft. If I do that however, they look like they are lower than when I started. My seloc manual just says to remove lash play then 3/4 more turn. The service manual online at boatfix says that the lash play will be removed when you torque them down right.
Should I just torque them to 20lb ft since I am reinstalling them or should I just remove the lash play and another 3/4 turn?
Thaks
