Iboats has the props for your motor. I take it you want 17 pitch aluminum and a 15 pitch stainless or did I miss something?
Would also need to know if your outboard is a single exhaust or dual exhaust

Re: Need force prop

Google Propco Propellers.

They list aluminum and SS props for that motor in 15 pitch (as well as other pitches).

Your 1988 is a single exhaust, one piece lower unit. You can use stock type closed hub props or open thru-hub exhaust props. There will be no difference in performance.

HOWEVER: Before you go spending money on props, tell us what boat you are powering, if possible, full throttle RPM with this engine, top speed, and what problem you are trying to correct.

I have a bayliner trophy deep v

max rpms are 44-4600

I really need that extra torque because I found in the ocean it was struggling with strong currents and bigger waves.

I want when I touch that throttle I want to get out of there...

and yes it is a one piece single exhaust

also I want a used one there must be hundreds out there but here in quebec no scrap yards
thanks

Re: Need force prop

The force 125 is not a particularly strong engine and with the 17 pitch prop, yes, you are at the bottom end of the recommended RPM range. The engine does better at the top end of 5500 RPM. So yes, you probably will do better with a 15 pitch prop. If you find an after-market prop, be careful: While some are listed for Force engines, you may need to modify the prop a little , or modify the anode behind the prop, or you may need to remove the anode completely for clearance.

Going down two pitches to a 15 should boost RPM up to about 5000 and if you go stainless (except Ballistic, it loads down the engine even more than stock) you should see another 200 over that.

If you can't find the prop you want and if you can find a 2 to 1 ratio lower unit, bolting it in place of your 1.7 lower will improve performance a good bit with your current prop.

If you google "Force 125 owner manual"; you'll find a PDF for a Force 85-125 owner manual to print out.

It states your WOT rpm range is 4500-5500 rpm.

Re: Need force prop

sounds just like how my boat was when I got it - ran about 4500-4600 rpm with the 17 pitch. I put a new 15 pitch AL prop on it it went to 5000-5100. I run about 2400 lbs typically. I have a stainless 15 pitch that only gets me 4800 b/c of the cupping but does have better low and mid-range acceration. My hull runs better with the AL prop.

Re: Need force prop

I would suggest sticking with an aluminum prop because 125HP is not enough power to flex the blades much if any. If you hit something, you need a prop repaired, if it was stainless and hit something you may have a lower unit to fix.
