I have a '99 ford taurus SE V6.
I was doing the brakes tonight. On the passenger front, I was loosening the two bolts that hold the caliper onto the base unit, and I accidentally tightened one until it snapped. Have you ever had the wrench set the wrong way????
Anyway, I love doing my own work because it saves me money :/
I need the part number for this bolt, it has a threaded end with a short (1/4") smooth section (like a lag bolt) at the top just before the head.
Does Ford or anyone else sell this bolt alone?
I used my drill, some bits, some oil, two extractor sizes, and lot of teeth gritting and I got the broken bolt out of the top of the caliper pin.
I just need the bolt and I'm praying that I can get one locally.
Thanks,
KRS
