need help decoding serial number on old evinrude

My wifes cousin gave me an old evinrude outboard and I am trying to find out what the horsepower is on it. It is a little bigger than my 30hp tohatsu so Im really hoping it is a 40 or 50hp but being that its an older engine Im not too sure. The serial number was stamped on a nickel sized plate on top of the engine. The serial number is 2592404866. I have tried to search on a few sites to decode this number without any luck. Was hoping someone could help me out. I just want to know the horsepower but any other info. is appreciated. Its a long shaft motor with a metal hood and its a two stroke,two cylinder. Thats about all I know about it so far other than it is supposed to run and it does turn over. Hooked it up to my truck battery,lol. Want to get it running and replace my 30hp in the never ending pursuit of more power if you know what I mean. If its not a higher hp motor an extra outboard is never a bad thing. There should be a small plate (on most engines) on the port (left) transom bracket that contains the Model & Serial number. There may instead be a larger plate just above the transom area of the engine, between the transom brackets, with those same numbers imprinted.

We need the "Model" number to determine what you have.

The numbers I gave are the only numbers I can find on this engine. It doesnt say serial number though it just says evinrude and the number on the nickel sized plate. Could this be the model number? Im guessing this is probably a mid 1950s engine rated around 35-50hp but I would like to know for sure. Will look again tomorrow. Thanks again.

Model 25924 = 30 HP = 1956
Serial # is 04866
