Im at my fathers getting ready to pull the motor. He has a tractor that we can lift it off with. I have two questions. What are the lift points on the engine to lift from. I found one large threaded port over a cylinder and there is a small threaded port on the intake manifold on the opposite side. I feel like lifting on the intake is not a good idea.

The other question is should i hang the motor from a tree or lay it on the ground. The motor shroud is fiberglass and i dont want it to break.

any help would be great.

13 minutes is that fast enough? :joyous:I'd recommend removing the motor shroud and using using nylon straps and a threaded ring to do the lift. I would then build a motor stand for it.

The top shroud is off the bottom shroud doesnt come off all too easy. It will just be off for two days. Just need to replace the transom. l

Yes aluminum. Or else the motor would be off for a bit longer. I found the bolt holes for the omc lift ring. I have a puller that will fit just need to get the correct bolts. I think I'm going to lay the motor on its side on an old tire. It will just be there for a day or two. The motor mounts are attached to the shroud. So removing that might be a bigger project then the whole transom replacement.

Never seen a shroud that was not easily removed on an Evinrude. Would really like to see pics. Maybe I'm not understanding what you're describing. I've never been a big fan of laying outboards down but it's your motor and your choice.
