Need Help quick 98 sylvan bass boat PLZ

ok anyone one who can help thanks in advance! i just sold my 88 cimmaron bass boat to buy a all aluminum bass boat. been lookin for a 97 up bass tracker so it would be all aluminum rviets are fine with me. anyway i found this 1998 sylvan bass boat very nice clean looks great and im takin it out tomorrow the owner said its all aluminum and riveted looks like a deep bass tracker i really like it but i wanted to know if anyone knows if the transom is all aluminum too because i do NOT want wood in a boat ever again or how i can check with out tearing the thing apart thx so much! and any sylvan owners have u been happy with your boat or do i need to wait on a tracker some have told me to steer clear of the trackers any ways so i dont know what to do the sylvan is a 1998 with a 1998 mercury force 40 power tilt and trim and a 36# motorguide and a 98 trailer for $3000 good deal?

Forget the wood transom.....it's the Force outboard you need to stay away from.

I would also be surprised if the Sylvan had anything other than a wood transom.

lookin thru the paper work its all 98 boat trailer and motor and i heard the force motors were ok as long it was a 60hp and under i know its bottom of the barrel motor y so bad though?

I do not think there is a aluminum bass boat without wood inside the transom...... I would avoid Force outboards.

There's nothing overly bad about Forces but since they're discountinued parts and service are going to be increasingly difficult to obtain.

i thought like the newer trackers are all aluminum does that not include the transom? and are all the parts discontinued or just the motors thx and all the trackers ive been lookin at have the force motor also or one that says tracker and i was told that is also a force thx u guys for the info keep it comin just tryin to get a good deal i only have around 2500-3200 to spend thx

You will never get away from wood in the transom if you want an aluminum boat, if it does go bad unlike glass you just pull a couple bolts and change it, really easy and if it was done right to begin with it will last for years and years.

The wood is inside the skin of the hull, so the rest of the boat is aluminum but there is wood in the transom, I redid mine 3 years ago, it was 24 years old and was still fine, I just wanted to change it, the new one will be good for another 25 years, so it really isn't a problem like it is in a glass boat.

In my opinion Sylvan is a much better boat than a Bass Tracker, Trackers seem to be bottom line get it built as cheap as possible boats where the Sylvan is made in a small town and they take alot more pride in there work, they make Smoker-Craft boats in the same plant.

That is another local company to me and I see a ton of old Sylvans around as to the motor get on the Force forum and ask if that is a good motor and how hard is it really to get parts, they would know and give you an honest answer.

Actually I think the ones that say "tracker" on them are actually evinrudes which are fine motors.
