Re: Need help QUICK,SuZuki 4 stroke's sank
DO NOT TURN THIS MOTOR OVER.
in no particular order, remove the spark plugs, remove dissasemble and clean the saltwater from the starters, drain and refill the oil sumps. dran and flush the VST, the rails will self drain once the VST and low pressure fuel systems are carefully flushed.
hopefully the batteries were almost discharged at the time of sinking.
if not carefully check ALL positive terminal connections on the engine that are hot with batteries on engines off.
repair connections as needed.
clean the main harness connector of saltwater and apply a dielectric grease.
use a remote harness as nessasary
once this is done then hook up a spark tester to control where any sparks occur, crank the engine over clearing water from the cylinders. install new or carefully cleaned plugs and restart the motor, I reccomend a 6 gallon tank with a mix of 1/2 gallon two stroke oil,3 Oz stabilizer and a fuel system conditioner as most likly this hull will sit a bit.
now if you had spark while clearing the cylinders install the plugs and restart the engines.
remember now we have camshafts and valvletrains and a lot of other shiney parts that two strokes never had to prevent corroding/rusting.
once the engines are started allow to run for a minimum of 30 minutes preferably with a light load.
if you need futher assistance I am heading to the shop in a bit and I happen to have the suzuki 4 stroke manual there.
I dont do a lot of suzukis but I did recover a pair of F225 Yamahas last week.
but as hydrolock HAS occured and saltwater is HIGHLY conductive as are certain mineral laden freshwater ponds its imperative to clean the starter commutator and brushes as well as clearing the cylinders of a non-compressible liquid BEFORE attempting a restart.
