Hi,

Thanks for the help, I'm new here. I recently acquired a 1984 Sea Sprite Mark 1 Continental. It has a OMC 2.5 cobra i/o engine. I took it out for the first time yesterday. At full throttle it maxed at 35mph and less than 4000 rpm. The prop is pretty well chewed up, so I know I need a new one. With all the different combinations of blades, pitch, diameter, etc., I'm not sure which one I should get to maximize speed and acceleration. Can you guys help? Thanks!

Welcome,Just you and a tank of gas??What size is the Sea Sprite?
Please read the stickies at the top of the page also the helps at the top of the iboats prop store page.It will help you understand what we're trying to do.We'll need the prop size usually on the barrel or under the prop nut.

Re: Need Help Selecting Right Prop

Sorry, I had to ask my kid what a sticky was. I found the numbers but they were hard to read. It looks like 13 for the diameter and possibly 19? The boat is 17 feet long, I don't know what it weighs, but it has a passenger weight limit of 6 persons or 850 pounds. I looked at the props listed on this site, but I prefer the experience of others. Hope that's enough info, thanks again for the help.
