Hello, this is my first post. I think I may have Carb troubles??
I recently had the Tracker 175 out on the water today. It has been unused for a few months, but stabilizers were added to gas before storage.
It starts easy, idles fine, runs good at low speeds, but will not reach max speed.
If I quickly push the throttle from idle to wide open, the engine will stall. If I gradually increase the speed form idle, it will top out at 18mph@3200 RPM. This engine should top out at 33mph.
when I had the throttle maxed today traveling at 18mph@3200 RPM, I would push in the key for choke and the engine would come to full speed temporarily. Repeatedly pushing and releasing the electronic choke, allowed me to bring the engine to 33MPH@5000 RPM. As soon as I stopped choking it, the engine would drop back to 3200 RPM, with the throttle maxed, and only run at 18MPH.
I did run it with the cowling and air-box off, after all this, just to see how the carbs were responding. (the wife was doing the driving, while I was doing the inspecting) I did happen to have Carb&Choke cleaner with me and tested each carb while running at wide open. When the carb on top was sprayed, the engine bogged just a bit (normal??). When the carb in the middle was sprayed, the engine bogged just a bit (normal??) When the carb on bottom was sprayed the RPMs climbed from 3200 to 5000 and the boat would run at speed like it should.
I know this is a long post, but I wanted to give as much info as possible.
What should I do??
