NEED HELP !! With 3.0 OMC I/O Wiring Harness

Hey guys just put a motor in my 1987 Bayliner capri.
I have all the wires hooked up except for the ones pictured (black ones hanging on pin). I cant seem to find where they go, I think they're ground wired but not sure. The motor turns over when I cross the starter. But its like the boat has no power when I try to turn key in the ignition. No gauges light up and completely nothing happens. The ignition switch was good when i last used it a few weeks ago with old motor. Any help is good. Thanks!!!

Black wires are grounds.

the fuse box is real touchy, if you still have the original glass fuses. Mine went dead, I had to clean off all the contacts with emory cloth. Then I still couldn't get power to the ignition until I testes the circuit. Shazam, it worked. The red purple wire powers the key switch, yellow wire goes to the starter. Make sure you have 12V.

Do you mean, take of the ignition and check the wires? If so, a buddy of mine is coming tomorrow with the voltmeter. Ill let know if it works or not and if anyone else any ideas please let me know! Thanks!

Black wires do not go in the fuse box, they are grounds and get bolted to the block, which is in turn connected to the negative terminal of the battery.

Yes, I did ground the black Wires today and try and start it but even with them grounded twhen i turned the key nothing haplens no clicking or anything

Update: I hooked up the ground wires and now the motor starts when I turn the key in the ignition. But none of the electronics on the boat are working (gauges, horn, blower etc...)

Does anyone have a baylinetcapri with the same motor? If so could someone take some pics with the wiring harness? I'm having trouble finding a harness online

I would double check the fuses. Mine were fine but were not making good enough contact to power the gauges or the ignition. I have the same engine in a 1988 capri, what do you need pics off? Enging wiring? dashboard? LMK.

wiring on solenoids and shift plate, also the 3 big ground wires. And I replaced the 2 fuses on the shift plate and a few under the dash

Update: I cut thr red/blue and the big black wires at the cannon pug and just bypassed the plug and it fired right up and the gauges work. But the horn, bilge, blower, nav light, anc light arent working. They are all on the same panel. Does anyone know what it could be? or what color wire controls that panel?

Can't you start testing/following ALL the wires on that panel and see where your problem lies? Sounds like an easy fix man. I don't think anyone is going to have a diagram for the dash panel on a 25 yr old boat. The wiring diagram for the engine is readily available, though.
