Deal with them them. Not much we can do with a faulty order.

Don't get upset, we're here to help. Some are more versed in specific engines than others. I personally have no knowledge of your engine so my reply was based soley on your wording in the OP. You didn't ask a specific question so I replied as though you were just venting about a fouled up order. Well chosen words will elicit quality responses. You said you got a tube w/two screws in it, my initial thought was, so what.

87F84449 is the correct and current part number for Mercury parts.

If you ordered from a Mercury dealer, they should have sent you the correct part.

If you ordered form a non dealer, maybe they sent you an aftermarket switch that they thought would work.

Or, maybe someone just grabbed the wrong part while pulling the order.

Crowleymarine dot com in Denver is your online Merc dealer.

What you ordered and what you got????
A few pics will help a TON!!!
Sometimes(unless actually broken) a bit of WD-40 can free it up.Again pics!!
Looking up the part# doesn't always show a pic.
