Hello, I am OMC person, but last weekend I was not able to pass this motor during our community garage sale.
According to the owner it was sitting inside for last 10 year, but it looks great outside and like new inside, so I took my chances for $200.
I figured it is 1983 by now.
Can anyone help me to determine what is correct spark plug for it?
It has brand new Champion J8C in it, but they look new, never used, so I had better to check that.
Also, is there online service\repair manual just in case I need it?

Thanks.

OK, not too many responses, but I found website that says it is NGK\B7HS or Champion\L82C.
I guess the guy used new J8C plugs just to close the holes.

I will keep looking, but hope someone who knows this engine still will share some experience.

Thanks.

According to Marinshopen, your 15 CE is a 1983.

Also Racerone is correct (as usual).

I put in 2 new Champ L82C plugs and motor started with 3rd turn, runs great giving strong **** jet.
So ,it looks like it was good buy.

But there is one issue:

The connector on fuel line that goes to motor leaks gas when I pump the gas with my hand.
I got new one in Walmart that says MARINER, but while it looks the same it is longer and does not lock (the bottom one on the picture).
Why?
Is this incorrect model?

Also, when I pump too hard gas sprinkles from the black slot\hole on the top of carburetor ( see second picture).

With my OMC motors I would just get carb rebuild kit and rebuild it, but I am not finding anything for this one.
Is it going to be a pain to get even simple parts for it?

Not all Mariners were created equally...some were created by Yamaha (your's) and some by Mercury.

Check out parts availability (you have to look up by a RANGE of serial #s).

Check here at iBoats first and then marineengine dot com.
