Re: Need Information on Sears Gamefisher
Since your motor is air-cooled, it's almost certainly an Eska-based one. Sears sold 5hp models from the 60s through part of the 80s. The engines were built by tecumseh, and had Tillotson carburetors.
If you look at the engine, there may be a tag there attached to one of the bolts. The number from that tag is the engine model number, and that will lead you to a narrowed list of model numbers on the site I mentioned in the previous message.
There may also be a carburetor number on the carburetor, and that might help as well, if you need a carb kit.
By looking at the sears site listed in the previous message, and comparing the parts diagrams, you should be able to narrow the year down pretty closely.
Good news is that if you can get close, it will be good enough. There weren't many model year changes during that period, and impellers and carb kits are pretty standard for any of them that have the same engine model number (tag on engine).
The cowlings changed, too, and there are pictures of those in the parts diagrams.
I hope that helps. If you just need a carb kit, pull your carb and take it to a small engine repair shop. They should be able to fix you up, or they'll even rebuild your carb for you, for a fee.
