Need help please -

I purchased a Uflex Steering wheel to replace my wheel on a 2000 Sun Tracker pontoon boat. I removed the steering wheel nut/washer, the wheel will not come off. Seems that it has a fitting on the shaft that I'm not sure should be pried out or ??? And how should the new wheel be installed; is there any fitting I should be getting??

a steering wheel puller is needed, and the new wheel will be pushed on by the new bolt/nut..

Re: Need installation help for Steering Wheel Replacement

Thx a bunch. I thought it might require a puller. 2 questions for you - 1. Do I go to the manufacturer and order a new bolt/fitting and, 2. how about the puller itself?

Ps. thanks for helping on this !

2. how about the puller itself?

Run the Nut back on, til it's Flush with the end of the steering shaft,.....
Sit in the seat, firmly plant your knees under the Wheel,+ apply All the Pressure you can to the Wheel with your knees,......
Then Wack the Nut with a Hammer,.......
The Wheel will Pop Off the taper,+ you can remove the Nut, then the Wheel......
