Need new prop help!!!!

Ok so I have a 1990 glasstron sierra with a Volvo penta 230a andits time for a new prop and i dont eeven know where to start so if you guys could point me in the right direction and help me get the correct prop for my inboard/outboard i would appreciate it thanks

Can you get some more info from your setup??? RPM's WOT, speed, gear ratio so that a calculation can be made. Is there any other issues you want to correct, or is the boat running fine? How about the numbers off the existing prop. This will all make your selection more appropriate and if you are talking about purchasing a SS prop, you want to make the most educated decision because those props can be expensive. My 40hp was 281 dolllars and change. Good luck.

No problem, I did the same thing when I was starting to re-prop my boat. If you get that info, this site will get you on track for sure.

If you look on the prop near the base of the blades or under the prop nut you may find numbers to help you out.
The performance info will help tell if the boat is setup well.

Ok so the main reason i want to replace the prop is because it had taken a beating this past year.
1)The boat runs excellent with 3 people but loaded with 5-6 people it falls on its face but honestly dont think it has anything to do with the current prop.
2)SPinelli bros, 9913,aluminum
3)14" pitch is 21
4)WOT most ive seen is 4000
5)Volvo Penta 230A/Volvo/120HP/
6)Glastron/1990/19.5'.
Im sure sure if that is the correct prop for this motor and outdrive because i know it was replace 3-4 years ago. SO it would be nice to know what the stock prop is also.

Apparently you don't have the rpm and speed.
I believe the boat is 2000 dry weight I think the gear ratio is 2.15.
At 120 I think you would call it under powered. Your rpm is at least 800 short
of the rating.Assuming a healthy motor;A 17" prop should get you 4700-4800. Better hole shot and handle 5 or 6 better.
