Hello. I'm usually over in the OMC section since I own 2 of them, but my friend is asking me for help with his 1999 25hp Mercury outboard. I tried (honestly) to go through Mercury's website and find the part #'s, but I found it confusing since I am used to how BRP has their site, and IBoats wasn't much better. I'm looking for part #'s for carb repair/rebuild kits and also a complete water pump kit. He hasn't had either done in almost 4 years and the engine is having a hard time idling properly. He heard I did my own work on mine so asked me if I'd help him. If anyone can please tell me those part #'s I'd appreciate it, I'm trying to get him prices for what it's gonna cost. I already told him that with the money he's going to save he needs to purchase a service manual for it if he can find one.

The serial # is best he could read: 0G902348 It's a tiller model, electric and rope start (electric doesn't work very often), manual tilt.

Thank You

Thanks for the link. Is it seriously???
16 8237072 REPAIR KIT-CARB 1 Info $81.80

The ones for both my OMC's weren't even that much for both kits (2 carbs).

And it appears their section for the water pump is down at the moment.

I don,t have much experience with the newer mercs, just the old ones. I just picked one model number in 99 for 25hp that would give you a link to check out. It is possible that your friends merc model has a less expensive kit. The kits for my old inline 6 cyl are cheap and the same kit works on a large range of merc carbs, older ones anyway. It seems not so on the newer ones.

I'll have to g et him to try ti decipher the model # off of it. Is it on the same tag as the S# and year? OMC's are, but I have 0 experience with Merc's until now, so I'm not positive if it's gonna be there. He's 45mins away from my house too, so I can't really just drive out there and take a look.
Thanks for your replies.
